How Bakd Crumbs came to life.
Hi, I’m Kriti, co-founder and chief taste tester at Bakd Crumbs!
I started baking during Covid while studying for my CA exams. Between numbers, notes and late night study sessions, the kitchen became my happy place.
I have always loved discovering food, whether trying a new cuisine or eating my way through a new city. While living in the UK, my favourite London ritual was starting each morning with a coffee and a cookie. It made me wonder: why couldn’t cookies become an everyday treat back home in India too?
That little thought inspired the idea of “Everyday Cookies” and eventually grew into Bakd Crumbs, with plenty of experimenting, tasting and sharing along the way.

I’ve always loved being in the kitchen, thanks to growing up watching my mom bake. But Bakd Crumbs really started after a trip to London, where I had a cookie so good that I came back thinking, “I want to make this!”
And that’s how Bakd Crumbs came to life: a little piece of something I love, made to be shared with everyone.
It started with a trip to London and a really good cookie.
We had some of the best cookies we’d ever tasted, and somewhere between the first bite and the last crumb, we thought, “Why can’t we make cookies this good?”
That thought followed us home.
We grew up watching our mom bake, and as kids, we were always in the kitchen trying to “help” in retrospect we were probably creating more mess than magic. But those little moments slowly turned into a genuine love for baking.
So we started experimenting with cookies. One batch became another, and another. Some cookies were too hard, too soft, too cakey, too sweet… and plenty definitely weren’t worth sharing.
Soon, our kitchen became a place where we’d experiment, argue over recipes, taste test way too many cookies, and somehow end up having the best time.
But we didn’t just want to make good cookies.
We wanted to make cookies that became part of everyday life.
- The cookie you grab with your coffee.
- The one you take on a road trip.
- The little treat after a long day.
- The one you share with someone or secretly keep for yourself.
And that’s what Bakd Crumbs is all about: making those everyday moments a little better, one freshly baked cookie at a time.
